THE FOUNDER
Joan Pastor, PhD, a licensed industrial-organizational and clinical psychologist, is well known in her expertise on the "people" aspects of auditing and of managing technical professionals. She also has helped shape the audit profession with her involvement in risk, compliance and audit methodologies that require expertise in organizational development, change and management. Her training programs alone range from developing people skills through interviewing, preventing and resolving conflict, influencing and negotiations, developing collaborative and value-based auditing, facilitation and presentation skills; to using psychology to understand and target fraud, unethical behavior, and white collar crime; to solidifying audit methodology and procedures through business process management, implementing risk assessments, and reviewing and upgrading of operational infrastructure and systems.
Joan has much experience working at the board level, including Audit Committees and Boards of Directors. She was given the Excellence in Journalism award for her article (co-authored with John Morrow, CPA of PWC) on The Eight Habits of Effective Audit Committees. Joan has presented to boards, facilitated meetings and assisted them in various endeavors over the past two decades.
JPA's many programs will assist finance professionals in developing diagnostic, organizational, and leadership skills to complement their technical expertise and make them highly successful in their careers.
